Leaving for Home (Kuala Lumpur)

Heading Home from Los Angeles, California
Dr Kamsiah and I are heading home after nearly a week in Los Angeles, California. Our MAS flight leaves at midnight, July 26 from Los Angeles airport. We saw a lot of places, and met and talked to a lot of people, Malaysians, Americans and others.
We finally met Dr BakriMusa (picture on the left) and his lovely wife Karen Musa who came down from Silicon Valley to spend the weekend with us. We are grateful to Semper Fi and his dear wife for being such wonderful hosts.
It was great to be in the United States as this trip enabled us to look at Malaysia from a distance and from the perspective of Malaysians who reside her. But like them, we are concerned that even from a distance, developments at home are troubling.
The RCI report was released with a shocker: TeohBeng Hock committed suicide and the three MACCstooges led a certain Mr. Hishamuddin were suspended pending further action (?). A French lawyer was deported because he was getting too close for comfort to some people in power.
Both Malaysians and Americans in Los Angeles asked us questions about our politics and we found it extremely to tell them that Malaysia is doing well. They are quite well informed and no amount of spin can help since the warts are too glaring to be covered up.
What is next in the coming 18 hours? We wont know since we will be in the air under the care of the pilot and crew of ou! r nation al airline,MAS. As our journeyhome will take 18 hours , I will not be able to blog on the air. But I should be active again after that. Cheers, Dr Kamsiahand Din Merican
