FAM's Boo Boo on Chelsea's Booing

Finally a statement from our football association only after Chelsea lodged a formal protest and news reports have highlighted the booing that was done when Chelsea's Benayoun touched the ball at the friendly held about two weeks ago. See FAM's press statement below.

While over 80,000 in Bukit Jalil Stadium heard boos including against another Chelsea's player whose frustrations irked the spectators, the FAM said 'if such an incident took place' can mean in BolehLand's context many things.

Are they saying the booing was not targeted against Benayoun and if it was it was not anti Semitic or racist? If it was not these, then are they saying BolehLand's fans are inflicted by this booing diseases against anyone opponent whenever they have control of the ball?

FAM didn't even admit there was booing so one can summise none of their officials were there, or the press and blog or facebook or twitter comments on Benayoun's booing must be fiction and the imagination of those who wrote such rubbish?

Or the FAM boys were there but rather deaf ones not to have heard the boos and its 'so happen' occurence whenever Benayoun touched the ball?

To avoid being misunderstood by die hard Les Blues readers out there, the issue is the rather weak and sort of denial of the booing and its racist connections or interpretations each time it sort of happens when Yossi touched the ball.

As in this earlier blog on the game, we, my colleagues including a mother who brought her 10 year old Chelsea fan there heard it and were disgusted.

FAM didn't think it was disgusting or even the booing was racist related but choose to play down the incident.

Correct, the majority do not subscribe to such bad soortsmanship behaviour. But if the booing was audible from the highest yellow zone level, surely is FAM saying the minority must have such powerful lungs that the booing could be heard from so high up and by the majority of the other 80k spectators.

The issue is not whether booing h! appens i n sports for a variety of reasons. In this case, Chelsea FC noticed its racist undertones and lodged a complaint. Surely there must be truth with such a respectable club or is FAM and the rest of us that night there denying that the booing towards Yossi was unfair and uncalled for and that Chelsea is creating a big noise out of the whimper boo huh?

FAM did not see any connection of the booing with Chelsea's complaint. 'Ifs', 'would have's' don't hide the facts pehlease! It's putting oneself in a denial play safe mode! It is very telling of what BolehLand these days are - we love to live in denial of the realities around us. Like the politicians and MSMedia who thinks that woes are confined to the opposition parties and those who are not on their side.

Even in our sports like FAM's reaction to Chelsea's complaint. And their latest prognosis to the HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT to tiny dot southern neighbour this week's game was blaming it on a young inexperience harimaus, huh? Is it that football became a sports for us like a month ago that we sent in a team of jaguh kampung against a well trained tested Republican squad? Isn't it an insult to the Chin Auns, Santokh Singhs and Arumugams, huh?

A big BOO then to FAM them for such a boo boo response to Chelsea. Makes a red devil fan see red in their 'yellow chicken' response to the great Les Blues!

But then at least they did make a gentleman's apology 'only if there was a connection.' Which still says that the boos that happened is just a bad behaviour characteristics of BolehLand people only huh? Count me out FAM!

PRESS STATEMENT 29TH JULY 2011
Complaint By Chelsea FC
With regards to the above matter, the Football Association of Malaysia wishes to issue the following statement:
The FA of Malaysia have received a complaint from English Premier League side Chelsea FC over alleged racist abuse targeted at Israeli midfielder, Yossi Benayoun, during a friendly ! match wi th the Malaysian XI in Kuala Lumpur on 21 July 2011.
From our initial observations, if such an incident took place, it would have involved a small section of spectators at the match and this surely does not reflect the feelings of the majority of fans in this football loving country.
The FA of Malaysia would like to strongly register that we do not condone any form of racism in football. If such an incident did happen, we would like to apologize to the player concern, and also to Chelsea FC.
Thank you.
YAHMEH!!!
