A prominent women’s group wants voters to ‘throw out’ sexist elected representatives. Awam acting president Ho Yock Lin said Bung Moktar was merely using an old sexist stereotype without citing any statistics or studies. “In fact, Bung Moktar is ignorant of some studies in the UK that point to the fact that young male drivers are more likely to cause an accident than women drivers,” said Ho. Ho said that this is Bung Moktar's latest tirade in the Dewan Rakyat following his infamous “bocor” remark in 2007 in reference to menstruation, other sexual innuendos and also making lewd hand gestures. “For all this, he has almost never been censured despite violating standing orders against unbecoming conduct,” she said. 'No democracy without equality' Should Bung Moktar refuse to resign, Awam urged Sabah voters to “vote wisely” and “throw out” sexist politicians.
