Price hikes: Tenaga's early start

Before March 2010 the unit rates chargeable by Tenaga Nasional Berhad were:

First 1,000 units @ 0.286

Every 200 units thereafter @ 0.378

In April, the rates were as follows:

First 500 units @ 0.286

Second 100 units @ 0.378

Third 100 units @ 0.387 and thereafter every100 units at an even higher rate.

We checked with Tenaga Nasional in Butterworth only to be told that the upward revised rates are due to 'the upgrading of the equipment'.
