Najib's awe over White House is Malaysia's shame

I have always maintained an open mind when reading websites owned by political parties, and Harakahdaily is no exception. However, recent revelations are no longer to be taken with a pinch of salt.
The facts of Najib Tun Razak's meeting with Barack Obama are all clear. However, I am not only ashamed but also disgusted that not a single UMNO leader, minister, MP, state chief, division chairman or even branch chairman has come out with a statement as mild as to express displeasure over Najib's open support for Obama.
In this case, Najib has acted worse than some of the Arab kings who have traditionally sided with the US. Yet no Arab leaders had been stupid, despite their well-documented lack of wisdom - to incur their peoples' wrath by stating that Iran should be sent a "strong signal" over its nuclear programme, especially so when Israel's huge stockpile of nuclear weapons have missed Obama and Hillary Clinton's big mouths.
It is refreshing to note that Anwar Ibrahim has challenged Najib to declare where he stands. But my own prediction is that Najib would act dumb, and perhaps Apco has advised him how to behave in such a situation.
Najib is the kind of leaders who can be easily mesmerised at the sight of even a White House kitchen assistant greeting him.
Is this the kind of leaders that Malaysia - the model Muslim country - can show to the world? I have too many issues with our former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, but at least, he pays lip service to the cause of the third world by speaking out at international fora. Najib does not even pay lip service, let alone part his lips.
