Richard Branson set to launch Project, the new Virgin iPad magazine
From aircrafts to spacecrafts, the Virgin brand has always been on the forefront of technology. Now, Sir Richard Branson has announced his plans to launch a new bespoke iPad magazine, set to be unveiled in New York next week. The digital magazine will be designed specifically for the iPad tablets and will be called Project. The application will focus on business, culture, design, entertainment and travel. The announcement comes hot on the heels of Rupert Murdoch’s recent announcement that his company, News Corporation, is also launching an iPad specific daily newspaper called ‘The Daily’. Murdoch project is reportedly costing $30 million and will focus more on current affairs. With nearly 13 million iPads sold this year, and the rise of the app store as smart phones become the norm for an increased number, paying for content via apps, has so far proved more palatable to many consumers, than micro payments via browsers.
