Educate these local fishermen why they should not use bomb-fishing. By the way, are they locals or foreigners? Employ them to become marine park wardens (replace those who only sit behind the counters, selling tickets to tourists entering the marine park), so that they can earn a living. Cynical attempt to denigrate long-time citizens

I refer to the letter, 'Crackpots and pea-brained logic'. To follow the above writer's logic, there will be total chaos in defining who belongs to which country in this world currently. All the Anglo Saxons who populate USA, New Zealand and Australia cannot claim such countries as theirs. The same applies to China which may belong to some Mongolian tribe somewhere.The principle is already well articulated. Any country, by universal convention belongs to groups of people who form the first conventional society and institutionalised goverment in that area.
When the Anglo Saxons came to the Americas they were the first to establish a formal society and government there compared to the disparate tribes and clans that were roaming and fighting in the Americas then. The same applies to Australia and New Zealand.
The fact cannot be denied that some Malays have come from as far Yunan (China), Sumateras, Thailand, Middle East and other neighbouring countries. But, they as a group of people, were the ones who establish society and governmental system that become the basis of government and states, etc. currently.
To deny that basic universal convention is nothing but a cynical attempt to denigrate long time citizens of this country. This attitude of mind will create a lot of disharmony and disrespect among Malaysian.
Perhaps you can call George Bush and tell him he is not an original the US citizen but the USA belongs to the Red Indians.

It's very obvious that this type of double decker buses are only suitable for city use and not for highways and steep and meandering road as it's too unstable, especially when negotiating corners.Why is the minister and ministry officials taking it at a snail's pace to get to the cause of the real problem? Every time a tragedy happens, they pose for the journalists and promise to probe..probe..probe, and then their job is finished.
Why can't they come out with remedial action now to stop the unnecessary loss of lives, instead of only blaming the bus operators or the errant drivers?
And also, Puspakom. Have they been doing their job efficiently and responsibly?
