Sex, Former IMF Head, Turkish Politicians, Anwar Ibrahim and Malaysia’s sovereignty

These past few weeks, ‘sex’ seems to be making headlines everywhere. Since the sex video of Anwar Ibrahim was exposed, many more influential figures around the globe have also been caught for behaving inappropriately in relation to ‘sex’. Among others, an Indonesian politician was caught for watching pornography during a parliament session, and then there was Dominique Strauss-Kahn, a former IMF head who is being charged with forced sodomy. And just yesterday 6 of Turkish politicians from the opposition party resigned for having involved in sex video scandal and blackmail.
While the Indonesian and Turkish politicians and took responsibility and resigned, Anwar and Strauss-Kahn decided to fight. Like Anwar, Kahn too, first denied that it ever happened but he then reverted and said that it was consensual. However, Anwar’s lawyers tumbled back and forth in using the same argument in his case, as ‘consensual sodomy’ is still a crime in Malaysia.
But unlike Anwar, who is able to roam free to cause more damage to Malaysia, Kahn has been denied bail. However, Kahn is said to be on suicide watch, probably because of unbearable shame.
It is mind boggling on how Anwar is able to continue walking with his head up high while he is fully aware that his pants are down.
The figures that were mentioned above were only caught once in their most disgraced situation and they are already falling apart or repent. But Anwar has been caught twice for sodomy - apart from the most controversial sex video. And not to forget that there are also other unofficial charges of sex and sodomy with numbers of men and women, namely, Shamsidar, Norlaila, Rasid and the list goes on.
How can a person in the right state of mind continue to show his face in public after all these? Is it possible for a human to be immune to shame?
Or could it be that Anwar continues to fight not for his pride or ambition, but because he is in too deep in his ‘business’ with the devil? As was exposed by Anwar’s former aide, Rahimi Osman, Anwar had once asked for funds from Carl Gershman, President of National Endowment for Democracy, a Jewish organization, for the 12th General Election.
If he is receiving money and funds from someone then he must be working for them. He has a mission to accomplish that is to weaken Malaysia, tear it apart and put himself in power. Whereby, the real power would actually be passed down by whoever is funding him now.
Anwar’s close relationship with the Neo-conservative figures has raised brows among the Muslims in the region. His belief in Islam has also been questioned by his own ‘brothers’ in ABIM. At the same time, the west has also raised their brows at Anwar’s coalition with PAS and the Muslim conservatives. But he was quick to ask for forgiveness from his neo-con friends when he carelessly criticized them in his effort to win the hearts of the Muslims in Malaysia into voting for him.
On the other hand, he has never apologized to his Muslim brothers on his pluralism or liberalism and his approval of homosexuals and gays though.
With this, it is becoming clearer and clearer that Anwar is not necessarily fighting for himself.
Because Anwar is bound to follow orders of his funder, Anwar has to bear the shame, swallow the humiliation, pawn his dignity and walk proudly even after he has been stripped as naked as a ‘pandikutty’.
Anwar has no choice as he has signed a contract with the devil and he must deliver what he promised, that is the sovereignty of Malaysia. I just wonder what else does the devil holds of him besides his soul…
