Ode to a Swear and A Swore
On a Friday of 29 April two kinds of swearing did an occur
Though 1,000 km distance they separate
And 8 hours apart separated each swore,
One on a bright near afternoon
While another a rather late noon
A similarity of swear of sorts they shared
Where each swore before God tne Almighty
One in an Abbey while another in a Mosque
One a witness that blessed the swearing act
While another swore he was the witness to the act
One swore before man and God
While the other swore the other man was who he was before God
Nevertheless each swore under bright sunshine
With crowds of witnesses to hear the swear
Though one had millions the world over watched the swearing
While another had a crowd of rowdy opponents to deny the swear in
One won't promised to 'obey' while instead swear to 'love, comfort, honour and keep'
While another challenged and dared another to swear
But each swear is related to a blissful union
Though one's union will be blessed under law and by God
While the other union is cursed by man, wrong under law and cursed by God.
One swearing was held with pomp and pageantry
In a nation that calls itself developed, mature and civil
While another swore under threats and uncivil behaviour
In a nation that thinks itself modern and developed
But sadly lacking in maturity or civility.
Two swearing did a happen on an April 29
One where each swore in a fairy tale romance to be the future king and queen
Living happily in a palace till death do they part
While the other swore with bad blood to end a fairytale's dream of a future leader
Living sadly in a cell till death depart his political hopes.
An so on an April 29 in BolehLand
The nation watched in awe a swearing of grace and beauty between two lovers
As well as watched in amusement a swore that has no love between the other
A swearing that was disgraceful and ugly
Witnessed by a handful of tho! se who b elieved in the swearer than the one who is the object of the swearer.
Nevertheless a thousand kilometers or hours apart
They swore for reasons we now all know
Each swore they are telling the truth
But time will only tell who God believes and favours
As truth they told when they swore
Or lies made believable as truth
