Why was tear gas fired at the crowd who was dispersing and in the middle of the crowd too!
They were aware it was hardly walking space at Jalan Tun Perak and if a panic ensued, there will be bound to be crushed limbs and people being run over.
Why did they fired tear gas into the crowd when they were dispersing.
You feel you eyes like pepper or an acidic substance was thrown at it. Your skin tingled with a burning sensation. You are crushed by the crowd moving away. There was hardly space. You hold tight to your camera thinking the pictures are important to tell the world what has happened. To give the people side of the story.
Why was tear gas fired into the middle of the crowd when they knew the crowd were dispersing and was at a crawl pace to try to get to a less crowded area. But they didn't bother. You could hear the pong sound from behind you. The wind blowing the tear gas to the direction of the crowd.
A 10 meter walk to the entrance of OCBC bank took like more than 10 minutes because there was no room to walk. You felt crushed by sweating body. You hear people shouting move back, don't rush, don't run just stay calm.
Noone I saw threw anything at them, They just wanted to move back. You hear gasping. Your throat feel like someone was choking you. You are gasping for air. Someone shouted, water. I turned around for water, I cupped my hand and washed my fear. Tears flowed uncontrollably, you see citizens of all races, young and old, men and women, youth bending gasping for breath. Some handed out salt, some even used their beverage to wash their eyes.
And you hear the question asked... minus the expletives and wtf....why did they fire tear gas at us when we were dispersing...when we didn't do anything/... they knew we would be crushed if there is a panic.
Perhaps it was a tactic to create that panic for the people to hit back and then for 1Malaysia and Najib to say we were out to create trouble and have a motive to cause trouble!
Perh! aps they will say it was a stray shell that accidentally fell into the middle of the crowd?
All we want is to be heard, to ensure our country is not run by cheaters and fraudsters, those out to steal our lives away...
Shame on you 1Malaysia...why did you gas you own people.
'Get away run, someone shouted but I turned around to get more pictures and a gas cannister hit a few meters away. Thank God the wind below into the direction of those who fired them. 'Shit got gassed again the second time'... and with blurry and watery eyes, i snapped away, didn't even have time to focus....But you could see in the thick smoke bellowing from the canister, a row of blurry figure in full riot gear fatigues and their menacing water laced cannon truck. They were walking in a row, moving forward. It was an imagery like what we get on CNN of Zionist soldiers confronting the Palestinians. 'Am I in the West Bank', a flash thought passed my head, feeling squeesed, eyes blistering with pain.
Don't touch the can, don't throw back...someone shouted. But saw one person, took it up and threw it in the direction. It distracted by attention to catch it on film but it must be God or fate that made me point my camera at the direction where the canisters came from.
The 30 or so second was a long one and one can only hope to capture as many shots to capture images so that 1Malaysia and BN cannot say we the people started it.
Was I afraid? No because I was there to capture a moment of my life where I am with the people who share the same conviction as me...to have a clean government and not be afraid anymore of those blue uniforms, red helmet, firearms, tear gas, water cannon and most of all for 1Malaysia to think we believe in him that he is as clean as the Gombak River that flowed beneath my feet on this April 28 afternoon.
1Malaysia why did you gas your own people who wanted to join with you for a clean nation?
You could hear the angry voices from choking victims but we choose to behave! maturel y. 1Malaysia and BN did not.
On the way back, asked a few what they thought of what happened. The consensus... Why was tear gas fired at innocent citizens?
On this many, fence sitters have most likely decided the future government they like.
