Tagging Abusers Not Just Animal Ones
In Bolehaland, the uproar and outrage over a video clip showing the rather animal behaviour of some humans towards animals, in this case a fello mistreating a dog, just goes to show how inhuman we humans can be!
Is it any surprise that such behaviour towards animals exists? Hey, humans have even done a lot lot worse towards their fellow humans! There really isn't a need to catalogue the litany of what the modern phrase now termed as 'crimes against humanity' that we humans do unto each other.
Just beginning of the year, over at Uncle Sam's abode, branded Tiger mother, Amy Chua author of a parenting book 'Model Mentality' had set a teacup storm of outrage at her 'Chinese' way of bringing up her kids. Her closest cruel behaviour towards animals is her statement, "'I'm going to take all your stuffed animals and burn them!'.
Those angry at her way of parenting thinks she's mental. But this parent is a Yale scholar not some ordinary punk in the video mistreating the dog. And if intelligent people can have a 'caged-likw' mentality in upbringing her children, what more of other less intelligent fellos, huh?
Of course, there are those who do not or rather have not experienced the Chinese or Asian way of parenting will find her parenting method somewhat 'animalistic' perhaps.
She may spare the rod but isn't emotional and psycholical torment and abuse as painful if not worse than the guy's 'mad dog' physical mistreatment towards the puddle? Some may argue animals don't have emotions or exhibit such trauma. Hmm if you have ever owned any pet, as I have dogs before, try 'scolding your dog' and it will stoop its head, put its tail between its legs and walk in a rather humiliated pose and give a whining like sound.
Stories of pets attacking owners are not uncommon and possibly a result of constant badgering, something must have snapped in the animal to retaliate.
Well not being an animal expert, at least those who own pets will tell you their pets are sometimes more hu! man than themselves!!!
Yes, by all means we should get outraged at how we treat animals including exterminating them, even those with valid licences.
I remind those who wish to adopt pets that it is not like what they think it is watching 1001 Dalmations or Lassie or those they see at the Pet shop. It's like human parenting. Parents are never schooled in raising up their children. Even if Dr Benjamin is their 'bible' and like most of us believing in God, we go about our own ways, experimenting and doing what we think is best or gives us the less guilt perhaps?
Pet lovers at work were expressing their disgust over the treatment when talking about the mistreatment. The abuser is mental and gets a kink video taping his abuses? Very human like behaviour like most kinks right?
Not wanting to side anyone I asked, 'Is it being taken out of context? ' Have your seen how people trained their dogs not to pooh in the house but do it outside?' The dog gets quite a share of scolding and beating and the nose being stuffed to his pooh before it begins to scratch the door to ask you to let him out to pooh!
But there is an alternate way of creating a pooh habit so to speak, like how kids are trained to sit on the potty at designated time so that it becomes a routine habit and an automatic behaviour and give mom at peace for the rest of the day or night, depending on how the parent trained the kid, right?
If there isn't any truth in this Pavlovian like pooh training, know of someone who routinely has scheduled meetings or try to avoid any engagements about high tea hour because his 'throwing big water big business' takes precedent over anything else. If the routine is disrupted, it spoils his day!
"Gosh didn't you mom teach you about timing?", I would chuckled at that precise hour. "No, it's my own schedule," was his honest response.
Can we conclude in one 15 min clip, the fello is an 'animal abuser? This statement is not supportive of cruelty in any form or at a! ny time. But humans are a predictable lot and they are rather consistent in their behaviour, more consistent out of public eye or scrutiny right?
The conclusion of the pet lovers is he is a serial animal abuser who must be locked up or better still get the same treatment he vented on the dog!
But what of our municipal council fellos who go around shooting dogs and nabbing them? We don't even know how they treat the animals in the pound? Can these people be labelled animal abusers or that label doesn't fit becoz their job is to handle 'pest' control?
While we are right to be outraged by the animal behaviour of humans over animals, we need to also show the same if not more intense and sustained level of outrage, concern and call for justice if man abuse their fello humans!
Take cases of humans who die during interrogation or while under the custody of enforcement agencies. Are the officers like the municipal fellos rounding out strays. Just becoz they think their line of work allows them to use methods justifiable, the means to achieve the end, we should not express our disgust or oppose secret interrogation methods and advocate for recording of interrogation?
The recent acquittal of the accused in the death of a prisoner while under custody may be resolved according to the legal system. But is justice being served to the aggrieved family? In Bolehland, we get the impression that our justice system goes only as far as the accused either gets acquitted or convicted.
Those with power to pursue the case further seem to close the case once the legal system has given its verdict. Issues like who did it, why it was done or how did such wounds come about are just well left as it is and hope that time will set in and everyone forgets them!
Perhaps we are all caught up with the CSI programmes which survey has shown that it has helped law enforcement agencies and the justice system to be more professional and through in their investigation and responsibility. It can't be bad! if the aggrieved are able to pursue all possibilities with the hope that justice for them prevail in the end, right?
In BolehLand we seem not to bother who ordered the C4 murder or why. Or how did the wound appear on the deceased, it wasn't self inflicted so someone must have done it. Or why someone advocating for further investigation to clear a high profile fello in the justice system has the table turned on him based on a blog allegation.
Perhaps there is truth to conspiracy theories, protecting those high up, more warms in the can, or different skeletons being discovered that justice or the justice system just stops working for the aggrieved.
By all means, seek justice against that 'dog abuser' as there is evidence if the authorities accept the recording as genuine and authentic. In BolehLand, nothing is considered genuine and authentic if found in the web unless the authorities have the final say. But we have seen enough flip flops over this issue for reasons best know to the authorities, right? Wonder if their right to determine truth and falsity is itself an abuse of fair play?
But given that the video does not show any high profile pro government fellos, the recording must be authentic and therefore an all out APB is issued to catch that culprit, right?
Let's hope while we concur to stop animal abuse, we also tag all abusers of children, women, maids and environment. And towards civil servants who sabotage state governments, road rage, corrupt officials, enforcement officers who torture, zealots and bigots who abuse their authority, politicians who abuse their power- in fact, all those who show 'animal behaviours' in their course of work and treatment towards their fellow being.
If you have abusers in your midst, normal right minded humans are not safe, what more of animals, huh?
