Selangor Umno deputy chief Noh Omar is confident that BN will recapture the state in the next general election by winning 36 out of 56 seats, a seat short of a two-thirds majority in the state assembly. PETALING JAYA: Four Parti Socialis Malaysia (PSM) members were  detained today while they were on their way to a rally protesing against an iron ore plant being built by Brazilian mining giant Vale ,in Teluk Rubiah, Manjung. S Nagenteran, Patrick Vincent, Alexis Paul Raj and Choo Chon Kai were detained at a road block 3 km away from the protest venue. The Bar Council has recommended that the People's Volunteer Corps (Rela) be dissolved so that its financial resources can be transferred to the police force to strengthen the men in blue. Bar Council chairperson Lim Chee Wee opined it is timely for the government to reconsider the relevance of Rela after the Emergency Ordinance was repealed in December last year. I urge the non-Muslims not to respond directly on this post but send me an email privately to share your views. The topic is only dedicated to the Muslims whom I wished to get their views. By now everyone knows where I lived. My corner unit house is merely 80m from the BA mosque and I lived in a terrace house of mixed neighborhood of Muslims and non-Muslims. This is a very quiet neighborhood with reasonably well community engagement. Our issue here is the loudness of the Azan and the recital of Quran over the loud speakers, which has become a bane to many of us. I would say I am the worse affected in view of the location of my house and it has wide sliding door the entire sidewall facing the mosque.
